And what do you know...I'm up for the month!

Hello.

Check it out, baby!!!

Sweet!

And if it wans't for this misclick, I would have one 20$ more:)
http://weaktight.com/1256772

Good month, I learned a lot and I'm very positive I will make something in the vicinity of 500$ next month! Just on the tables:)

I always maintain a positive line all month (except for that sick day) and despite the fact I didn't won much, I was feeling very confident and tried, above all, to learn more about steal, take advantage of spots I would ignore, etc.

So I'm ready to take this to another level and I'm going to try the 500$ mark.

June: 400$ inluding races and rakeback! Nice!

And...WHAT A RIDE!

Wowwwwwwwwwww

And why the heck did I loose so much?

Well, mini-tilt, lots of wrong cards and the wrong moments and it was fish day (weekend).

As osiris (one of my personal teachers:) ) said one time, on weekend if you run good, you get rich. If you run bad, god damn, you'll be homeless (ok, not exactly like this but you get the picture:) )

http://weaktight.com/1225964
Sweet! I did misplayed this one, my raise wasn't big enough but the outcome would be the same nevertheless.

http://weaktight.com/1226458
No info on this guy so I almost snap folded. If I knew what I found out later the night, I would have insta called. He had A9 with no clubs. Nice hand, creative move:)

Then I started to put the pressure on and donks continue to do what they do best: look at their cards and chase down almost everything.

Well, sometimes that is just not enough and I manage to swing 128 down and up again.

What a ride.

Nl20 - Now we are talking.

Hi there.

After reading the title you might expect me to show you some mountain graph where I would prove I've won more than 500$, just on the tables.

Well, I "just" won 100$ on more or less 8k hands. I feel I could win a lot more but after recalling some sessions, I had one 40$ down session with just pure plain sick beats - had more than AA 6 times, and lost almost all of them, at least 5. Some of them I've showed you before so you can get the picture.

All in all, being 100$ up is pretty cool for the second shot at NL20, where I feel I have an edge over several players despite the fact I'm still doing several mistakes, in my opinion, pretty noobish.

Nevertheless I've improved a lot and now I'm trying to increase my steal percentage and trying to take advantage of specific spots, where steals work better - both pre-flop and pos-flop. I usually don't 2nd barrel much as I though in general these players when calling the flop would also call turn.

I need to get those small pp's to call flop and fold on the turn, so let's start shooting more bullets, shall we?

My english is getting worse by the post, I know..:)

And for your eyes only...Jennifer Love Hewit! God...

No news

Hi there

Been running pretty smooth on NL20, think I'm doing pretty well and really learned a lot.

Not much to talk about so goodbye for now:)

Went to dinner with a friend of mine yersterday, so I couldn't play much.

Kisses, Heidi!

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn (about NL10)

Hi!!

I'm at NL20 and guess what, winning!

I feel like I've improved A LOT, thanks to a lot (well, not that much)reading but more to two friends (still "just" msn friends) that share between them a lot of patiente.

Even when they are getting hit pretty hard on the table they find the courage and strenght to not tell me to go f*** myself but to help me with my own set of questions and doubts, regarding specifics hands.

God bless:)

So, all and all, I was struggling at NL10 and was about even/down a few buyins and made a personal objective of just going to NL20 when I reached the 1500$ mark.

Well, I went up on about 940$ :) Still, I knew by now i had the mental strenght to avoid or accept swings and I felt I had improved a lot since my first shot at the 20$ stacks buyin.

All is going very very well and I'm up 120$ on NL20 alone, feeling pretty confidant and knowing I'm making several good decisions overall.

Let's head for 2k roll, shall we?

And now, let me introduce you to another friend:

Still on NL10, with a shot at sngs

Hi!

Wow, Races are fun! Manage to win from races along something like 200$ + 20$. Then I won some more at rakeback..all and all, I finished April above 1000$.

Yes, I should have 2k by now but as you remember had my little downswing (poor play, poor luck, mini-tilt, etc) at NL20 so all is good.

Gonna try soon NL20 again, can't wait!!:)

Thursday 30 April 2009

What do you know...even!

Hi!

Well, I've been down to 265$, 270$ (etc) and then manage to build up to 280$ once more.

From the hands I've reviewed, most of the stacked situations I've been into i was ahead by a mile.

Ex.: AA with a K94 flop against a weak opponent who decided to go all in. Insta call - he probably had Kx. No..he had 88 and an 8 hit the river. Things like that.

So I'm very proud of the achievement I've accomplished regarding my poker skills: I feel I've got a lot better since the beginning of the month. I still don't feel at ease to harass NL20 tables again, but in a couple of weeks I might give it another shot.

Can't wait to get some cash from the cards - I'm probably quitting my job in a few weeks, sick of some stuff happening - my boss is way over the line with a few sh$t his been babling about.

At least I have my OWN company to support me in these time of crisis:)

Soon I'll write about my balance from April.

For now, FU swine flu!!

God speed to those of you in affected places!

Saturday 25 April 2009

Upswing? Or solid play?

Hello!

I've manage to build up to 280$, with what I think was solid play. Yesterday something funny happened.

I was in a table with a player that way overvalued his hands and I was harassing him for a while - managed to get half a buyin from him when everyone else left and the table was, at the time being, HU.

I know I suck at HU play. I'm fairly average/bad (before I was only bad) on cash game but I really suck at HU - nevertheless he was really bad and loved loved loved to chase me around with weaker pairs, bottom pairs, gutshots, the works.

I thought I could give it a go. That didn't work too well and I was down 15$ for the day - the last days I managed to end up the day up, even if just for a few bucks.

Felt a little frustated but I've quitted the tables nevertheless - lost a stack to runner runner straight with TPTK.

Next day I was able to recover all of it and profit more or less 2bis so I'm standing now at 280$ on the poker room, where my main goal is, before end of the month, to put this at 500$ or more, making, once more, the 1000$ bankroll I had starting April.

As far as I'm concern, I'm happy this thing happened - I found out I was making LOADS of errors and bad moves and now, despite the fact I'm still down for the month, I feel I've increased the quality of my game.

Fear me, NL20.

All this rollercoaster with my roll will, at least, give a sweet graph!

Wednesday 22 April 2009

Finally, some sense

Hello

Well, I'm now oficially playing at 6 tables simultaneous.

I started a session losing with KK vs QQ pf (all in) to a Q on the flop, JJJ on the flop to a all in flush draw with the flush appearing on the river and losing two races both to shorstacks (20bbs and 17bbs): one I had AK and lost to PP and the other I had a small pp (66 I think) and lost to A9 with a 9 on the flop.

So, starting off with 2 buyins down, I needed to be focus in order to make this work.

Therefore I logged on into the msn while I was playing, and talked and play, put hands on weaktight and play, review hands while playing (and play), etc.

What the hell was I thinking?

As soon as I focused, I started squeezing my buddy Osiris with loads of questions, some standard, others not so much.

Following his advices and some thumb rules from the book I bought (thanks for the tip, Osi :) ) I manage to recover from the 2bis down to a 1,3bi up.

Not so much for the money, I'm genuinly happy to manage to think througout most of the hands, making well thought decisions (even if some were dubious or just plain incorrect) and overall, avoid making donk mistakes.

No more stacks give away with TPTK, mates!

I feel I'm increasing as a player and I hope my bankroll reflects just that. According to my records, I'm down 255$ for the month, including the 80$ of the HM and not counting any rake back/race awards I will receive.

Another thing: I've surfed around and found out that there are inumerous (and far more interesting) poker blogs around so I've got to get me some leverage.

Just to start things off: beautifull A.J.Cook from Criminal Minds (and other stuff)

Hi hi hi!

Running soft, running even, running swingy

Hi!

I've tried to play at NL2 and NL4 (more at NL2 since there are a lot of more NL2 tables than NL4 on IPOKER open at one time) and I've been winning in a swingy mode - the problem is we are talking about 5$ buyins an therefore, I spend too much time to win too less).

This was ok a few months ago, since I was building a bankroll but it's very hard to be in pots of 30$+ and then battle for an average pot of 2$. Nevertheless I found it was very important to put this game into perspective - losing 200$ on a bad run/VERY bad moves is really awefull.

I deposit more money into the poker account where now i have 240$. I've left 500$ on NETELLER and I've "withdraw" 80$, so all in all I'm 180$ down so forth.

I'm not upset, just very frustated to be in this position very much due to bad decisions.

April final objectives:

- put roll up to 1000$ once more and continue to play NL10 until I feel I'm crushing most of the game (not very hard to accomplished if we take in account the rakeback and races I will get income from).

- play ABC poker on 6 tables, micro view mode.

- avoid the best way possible though spots like OOP big pots with marginal hands.

Some revenues:

- I think I will get in rakeback more or less like 50$.

- I'm in two races where, if all goes well, I will win a minimum of 50$.

- Not going to unlock the 100$ bonus just yest, maybe next month.

So I've got 100$ which make me on 80$ down for the month. With two weeks remaining, I think if I stick to ABC poker and solid decisions I will win 80$ in no time - on a rate of 2bi's per day, I would need 8 days so all is possible.

Bye!

Friday 10 April 2009

NL10? Too much for me!

HI!

Well, I've decided to step down a little further into the world of NL5!

I've really got to re-learn some stuff I forgot and learn some stuff I thought I knew.

Bought a new book, advice from a friend (I think I can consider him a friend, even thought for the time being he is just an online one), and to top this up I'm going away for the next week so all is good: away from the tables and reading a good book.

Let's see what the future brings.

Maybe NL is just not for me, I thought of that already, but before I learn more about this and stop doing stupid rookie/newbie erros, I refuse to think I can only win at limit.

I think I just don't know how to play this on a higher level than the lowest one possible:)

I've squached NL5 before, I'm sure I can do that again but, as I already learn by trial and error, winning at one stake doesn't mean you will win at the next one.

So off to NL5 to re-learn stuff and then switch to NL10 where I want to be at least a solid 15-20 BIs up (by solid I mean not earning these bis altogether in one demon good session, where I manage to fit all my hands against TP3ndK donk shoves).

I must have at least 15 bis of profit and at least 5k - 6k hands at NL10. 5K hands is not that big of a sample, but is good enough for me IF I feel it run good as a solid play not as a lucky shot. If I feel I had too much heat on my hands and got called with donk hands against my monters, I will have to gather another 5k.

When this is accomplished, I reach my goal of 1000$ once more AND I'm ready to try out once more NL20 - if I feel my game has improved enough to handle those players.

See you in a couple of weeks!

Tuesday 7 April 2009

Back to NL10

Hi.

Despite the fact I have Bankroll to sustain NL20, I'm going through the sickest run ever.

I'm now at NL10 and in a few hands manage to lose with AA, KK and QQ in more than one occasion, against gutshots, flushdraws and lower 2 pairs.

Furthermore, lost with set (555) over set (KKK) and just now lost with AQ agains AJ (weak player, always all in with marginal hands) and another shorstack with K6 and a K hit. This one wouldn't seem so bad if not for the bad run history I'm having on the last few days.

Amazing stuff happening, not hitting anything and when I do I get squashed by 3, 4 and 2 outers (on more than one occasion).

I'm sticking to NL10 for now, but I think i will stop playing for a while.

I'm down 17$ since I started NL10. Not too bad, regarding the AA, set over set and KK I've lost all in pre-flop or on the flop.

I'm down, from my calculations, about 300$. Sure I'll have some rakeback that I'm not counting yet, but this is showing that reaching April's objective will be VERY hard: I was aiming at 1500$, but I've switched it to step objectives from the time being.

Therefore, first step is reach, once more, 1000$.

See you around.

Fuck this.

Monday 6 April 2009

Downswing

I'm down. Really, really down: more or less 150$. 50$ was pure stupidity but the other 100$ are both bad decisions and some really thought luck.

Should have quitted before and regain my spirit and strenght but I didn't, and that cost me badly.

Hope to regain my game.

I'll post a more extensive post later.

Here is a post I've made on a forum, but it's in portuguese.

"

Muitas mesas com movimentos tipo AK all in pf tornam-se rentáveis nestes limites?

Digam o que acham!

Já agora refiram o que se pode fazer em relação à CBET e já agora se esta azia vos é conhecida!

Going round in circles

Hellloooo!

I keep winning and then losing to either bad beats or simply bad play.

If it were just bad beats, I would be up every day but my main problem is I'm playing hands i shouldn't play - therefore I'm more probable to get beats since I'm playing with a marginal hands - and I play hands i should play with little agressession or sometimes over agression.

Well, that's why I'm still stuck at NL20, It's a learning process. I don't mind losing while learning at NL20, it would hurt a lot more learning and losing on NL100, for instance:)

God speed.

When you think you don't have what it takes...

...you're already pot comitted, with 70% to win. All in, baby!

ps.: To put some colour on this blog, I will post some pics and all:)

On a different network

Well, well, well...we meet again! HI!

Since my poker life isn't very insteresting yet, I thought of giving you guys a break of my mini-micro-mega-small wins - maybe when I win more than 50$ per day, on a regular basis, I will be more confortable of bragging myself as a good player, even not being one:)

So, news - I'm on IPOKER thanks to a friend (awesome player) that told me about a cool rakeback deal.

I'm working myself on a site where I'm able to give players 40% rakeback plus, if they reach the 1000$ rake I give 42,5% and above 2500$ rake I give, yes, 45%!

Now that's something!

More news soon!

I'm charging for now IPOKER network so this is all kind of new to me, at least on NL because I've play on Titan (like a million years ago) but always on limit.

So far so good, played 20 minutes, won 17$ - ahah!

Today this is going to be more serious - I'm thinking of playing an hour or two.

Concerns - since I don't have HM yet (true!) I don't know if this room saves the history on a specific folder and what folder it is, I'm hoping to grab all this hands later..

Well, not much more for now.

Ah, been swinging forth and backward regarding the 1K mark - some bad plays but I feel they were made because I'm trying to evolve and so I'm trying to do things I didn't do before - problem is some of those things are not very good...eheh

I will try to play more hands - I haven't played much in the last few days..

Yeahhh baby!! I'm all in!!!

Bye!

Almost on 1K mark

Hello all

I've been harassing tables at UB, and I'm now at NL25. But since UB has deepstack games, I'm not very confortable yet to play with 50$ in front of me on each table so, for the sake of getting used to the game I'm buying in for 20$/25$.

I know this could be a mistake but as long as I'm still getting used to the stakes, I don't feel is much of a disavantage to me: I can win less on a monster hand, yes, but I've been making a lot of errors in the past few hands so this way i read it as "can lose less" :):)

Been wavering on UB between 200$ - 250$. I'm making a lot of mistakes but this last session I've runned good with very little weak plays: I've been sucked out a lot specially on hands i was ahead and a big favorite to win and got hitted by runners runners and such so no big problem there.

Let's see how this goes.

Another news: I'm beginning my own affiliate poker website where I will be able to offer more than 40% rakeback!

Keep in touch for more news regarding this matter.

Congrats Boku!!

15 days, 100$ to 10.000$ playing low stakes sngs.

The result:

Teach me....PLEASE!

Keep it coming, baby. Just keep it coming.

Hi there.

As you can guess, I'm still playing on UB and for what I can understand regarding the bonus unlock time, I will be staying here for a while.

So, straight to the point. I had a very good adaptation tothis games: kind of loose and with so many chips in front of each player, pots are easilly on an average 2$ - 3.5$.

For NL10 I think this is a very decent average pot value. What do you think?

I know I don't post as much hands as a poker blog suggest so I'll try to fix that in the next posts, maybe even commencing on this post.

Well, I've manage to build up to 320$ more or less and since I don't have yet ( GRRRRR ) my HM, I don't know exactly how much rake I've generated so far - since I'm playing micro, I'm sure I'm not generating a huge amount of rake but anything is good to boost the roll.

I'm very proud and happy to say that 10$ of rake would have been a blessing a few months ago but now they are just ok, think this shows how much I've grown in this game, much thanks to people I've bothered over and over again with doubts and lines of thinking throughout the hands.

So, here is the first hand.

Everyone I asked about this say easy push, easy all in, go go all in, ship that, etc.

Well, I have folded. I was positive he had me beat, I don't see many players on NL10 capable of this kind of stunt with air or a weak TP hand. Maybe he connect a two pair on the river, sure. Maybe even a SET, but with so many draws out there and with his snap calls to my bets, I was almost sure he had something like a draw or flush. Maybe a small flush, but still a flush.

BB Hero ($26.07)

Pre-flop: ($0.15, 6 players) Hero is BB

2 folds, BLUE_II raises to $0.35, 1 fold, RINGADINGDONK calls $0.30, Hero raises to $1.10, BLUE_II calls $0.75, RINGADINGDONK calls $0.75

Flop: ($3.30, 3 players)
RINGADINGDONK checks, Hero bets $3, BLUE_II folds, RINGADINGDONK calls $3

Turn: ($9.30, 2 players)
RINGADINGDONK bets $4, Hero folds

Maybe this was a bad fold, maybe not. I've read somewhere that where you don't know where you are on a hand (minding reads, of course) and you have a big decision to make, sometimes the best possible move is just fold even if there is a possibility you are ahead.

Well, since I wasn't calling, I either fold or shove it.

Regarding objectives, March objective was well accomplished already and I won't redifine it again, it's done.

When we reach the end of the month, I'll try to project a realistic objectiv to April.

NL10 but with a twist

Hello!

Well, I'm back at micro NL on UB poker site.

I know, I know, they had that "super-user" scandal some time ago.

I'm trying not to think about it nor the fact I don't respect them nearly enough to consider this house one of my favorite ones.

The thing is they still have 140$ bonus dolars for me to unlock.

I just recently found as well that they have NL10 but with a 200bb buyin, so I'm playing NL10, which i wanted to, with a 20$ buyin which i kind of prefer to avoid right now.

The downswing is still very present. Nevertheless i gave it a go and manage to build up to 250$, more or less - I've deposit in UB 200$ - on the first try.

Pretty decent start. I also have rakeback on this room, which is always a boost up.

Lets see how this goes.

Furthermore: the points on NL10 are unlocking pretty fast.

March, accomplished

Hi.

And it's done. March objective is reached. I had HUGE swings, from 180$ to 294$ to 140$...what a ride it was.

Playing Lim 1/2 full ring and 6seat has this kind of effect. Huge bad players that sometimes sucked out on 2, 3 outer and took down huge pots and a big pile of my chips.

Manage to come back and guess what, I got the 60$ bonus i was about to give up.

This was the last day and I manage to get it after a big strecht last night and 3 / 4 hours playing today.

So, 700$+ in three months, starting from scratch, basically. I'm proud of myself and I know I've learned a lot.

Now I think I will charge UB. Despite the fact I hate them and after their super-user scandal they come to lose a big bundle of respect from players, they still have 140$ bonus retained there and 140$ is a big load of money for my roll yet.

So, I guess I will take a shot on NL10 just to start, and then, once more, switch to NL20. Hopefully the variance will be my friend this time.

ps.: Boku is on 9200+! GO!

Poker stuff to see: God Boku

Have you heard of 'props'?

Yeah, betting has gone a long way since the simple "put me up 100$ for blackberry, that fine stallion, to arrive first in line".

Nowadays you can bet anything and everything.

I've come to know of a challenge/prop which has addicted me so much that I don't know if I did had any money involved, it would be possible to be more interested then I am right now.

This prop: the player, Boku, has oppened a bet to everyone who would like to accepted, for any value. There isn't such a thing as too small or too big of a bet, as long as it's a 3:1 odds bet.

Ex.: Boku bets 100$ for each 300$ of yours.

The rules are simple: making 10.000$ from 100$, only playing tournaments which maximum prize is, at best, something like 100$ from what i could understand.

You are all wondering, how is this possible? He wouldn't have the time to do it. Well, this guy has more than two arms, and on each one he has three hands.

He plays 50 tables at once! Unreal!

Well, I won't spoil the surprise, check it for yourself.

Blog: http://10kpropbet.blogspot.com/

Thread regarding this prop, on twoplustwo forum: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/54/poker-beats-brags-variance/propbet-turning-100-into-10000-15-days-lowlimit-only-417722/

Back on track

Hi!

The homeless person didn't brought me (bring/brought? I've got to study english somewhere, I'm consistently screwing over verbs and tences ) any good luck. It's not his fault, I know:)

So, where were we? Ah, yes, Wednesday! I manage to lose from 160$ish to 130$ish.

I remeber to quit the tables and thinking i was more or less 10BIs down, since i started this downswing.

According to Ryan Fee's guide, a player is suppose to, at some time or from time to time, to suffer huge downswings that can reach a massive 10BI drop.

Well, either I'm very bad or very good, because I didn't reach medium stakes and already are taking beats and swings like a pro: yeah baby!

Today I took a different approach. I really need the f*$$%#& HM to show hands to people and check out my leaks, so I tried to explain the best way i could, some tough spots I've been into the last sessions I've played.

Got some pretty good info and feedback and It kind of boosted up my morale.

I start to attack 1/2 full ring limit tables, so i could gater some more points ( 120 points to go until 15 of March to unlock 60$! ) and attack 2 NL10 tables, just to start to get the hang of it.

Later on I charged only NL10 tables, four of them.

Manage, finally, to bounce back a bit and recover more or less 5BIs.

Let's see if i can get the bonus!

New morning

Hi again, second post today, different subject

I had a hard beat yersterday and the day after ( 130$ down ) but that is part of the game. Read it from a good source that 10BI's downswings are normal so one must get used to it and learn to get the most of it.

Today i feel my luck chaging. I was coming to work and an homeless guy who "works" for a portuguese welfare (-> directly from google translate) magazine tried to sell me one magazines. I said i didn't have any changes with me but just to make sure, I reached for my wallet.

Well, I didnt have it with me nor the portable disk i usually carry around with as well. Furthermore, I was really going to need it today so I rushed home and got it. Glad i was just leaving my house, if I just found out I didn't have the disk at work, well...I might have became a little bit angry...

So I rushed to work and as soon as I saw the magazine seller, I called him and bought one magazine from him. He was very happy with it and so was I, because if I didn't had seen him selling magazines, I wouldn't have reached for my wallet and I wouldn't have found out I didn't had the disk with me.

I love coincidences.

Maybe this is a change of luck, or maybe this is just a premonition I will lose EVERYTHING today!!!

:)

Lost less, but still lost!

Hello.

Well, yesteday I charged again NL20 tables and manage to get, in the first 10 minutes or so, to have a SET against a better SET on the flop, a chaser running out for two times against me grabbing his gutshot and the cherry of the first 10 minutes of play..

Against two donks, with loads of cash on the table, they were calling anything PF, with or without a raise. One of them with A9, A8 (Ax, really) and an Ace on the board would NOT let it go and could even raise thinking he had the nuts.

I raise with AQs UTG and got re-raised by the button, a donk of a rare breed, who enjoys 3Betting a lot PF but then just check it down all the streets. So I didn't care much about him, if an Ace or Queen hits the flop. The other donk called, of course.

Flop was AA7, with a flush draw for me. First donk bet the pot (he always bet the pot, when he bets) and I raised him, because i knew if he had a weak Ace or even K7, JJ, TT he would come over the top and maybe even try a shove there.

The Button of course folded.

He then re-raise. If I called i would be with lesse then 65bbs on the table and since my all in would not cost much for him to call, I pushed all in.

I had trips, with a fairly decent Kicker. I knew he didn't had the K because he would have re-raised PF so I was pretty sure i was going to win a big hand. Besides, i had Nut Flush Draw so he drawing out on a third suited card didn't matter, in fact, was even better for me.

He showed his hand, he had 77.

If this was a good player, i could have run away from the hand, losing less than i did - and come again, maybe i couldn't, Nut Flush Draw and trips. But this guy played anything, and usually raised his pp's.

On another hand, with AA, i lose to T8off and with KK I had to fold to a Ace on the turn against a donk that chased any ace around. He did had A7off or something, on a complete dry board.

I think I did fairly good because i had 200$ and now I'm stuck with 165$, so I could have lost a lot more.

Back to NL10, baby.

And the 600$ has to be reached again!

Really miss HM. Needed to show a lot of hands to people and needed to check out my stats. Well, I've always played in the dark so I'm kind of use to it. But HM is a blessing from the skys.

What the f*ck are you doing to me?

Hi

Well, seems like March is the rollercoaster month. I'm playing on NL20 now and yersterday i got a swing of about 90$.

Lots of bad play and lots of bad luck. With T9s, raise pf, got called from an early position and the flop came 89T with a flushdraw (not of my suit). EP bet small value, I raise and got re-raised.

I know better here and i knew i was probably beat and not getting against a draw of some sort.

Best possible way i was up against T9 as well. But I played it all wrong and understimated the donk power of calling anything PF. I went all in and the fish called with J7off.

I should have known better.

Then a lot of AK, AQ hands. One AK i was up agaisnt a loose table and got Ax9 on the flop. Bet, got raised, re-raised and got re-raised and here i knew he had a set of 9s. Could have A9 but if that was the case that second re-raise wouldn't have happened and he either called or would go all in.

Call it tilt or stupidity, I've went all in and in fact he had a set of nines.

Well, playing like this i deserve to lose. I think this is better for me to keep my game up, in fact i was getting too pretensious and slacky about my game so I hope I've learned my lesson.

I'm back at 600$ since yersterday I manage to win 100$ more or less and lose 100$ more or less:)

Let's increase the stakes, shall we?

Hello!

I've been almost lured into the darkside of roulette schematic gambling once more, but I was able to forfit the power of the ring and....woah, talk about geek stuf.....

Check back to reality? Done. I manage to run away of the roulette but tried my luck at the slots online, all this on the pacific poker software.

Won an instant 20$ on the first spin and then slowly lose them all, and a 5$ more. I close the damn thing on that second!

With 200$ on the site, and a backroll on solid 600$, it's time to hit the NL20 mark.

My calculations VS experts

Experts: to play at a certain NL stake, you need 20 x BUY IN of that stake.

Me: i only play with 30 x the buy in.

So, considering you don't know what the f*ck I'm talking about, I'll try to explain it, as I came to understanding it:

NL20 is the same as the big blind being multiplied by 100. So, 20 / 100 = 0.20.
This mean NL20 has a big blind of 0,20 $. Furthermore, NL20 also stands for a stake where the buy in is: 20$.

That being said, and using my safe bankroll management system :), 30 x 20$ = 600$.

That means NL20, HERE I GO!

I've been playing today for an hour or so, and manage to win half / full buy in ( 20$ ), not sure.

But I felt OK and even had a few all in moves that didn't get me scared despite the fact i was used to go all with just 10$.

Double the money, double the fun!!

Up, up and away

Hello!

Not much to say here, just want to mention that yersterday i was able to rebound from the sick beats I had on Thursday.

Come to think about it, i think some of the so call good moves I've made were a bit marginal and risky.

I gave an example of a hand i was sure I played it right but now that i read it again, I'm not so sure I played it the best possible way - the AK on the bb, remember?

Well, I DID have an history on the guy and he DID have done that before with a Ax and an Ace on the flop but since the MP instantly called my bet, and with button to still "talk", i don't know if I didn't made an error and understimated him.

Well, that's in the past, live and learn.

Almost at 600$.

First downswing of the Month and Year

Hi there.

Well, enough is enough and I've quitted the tables for today with about 50$ lost.

I can blame 15$ - 20$ to bad play, but to be honest it should be 15$ or less.

The rest of the money simply was lost PF or on the flop with all in moves.

I think I've got to review some information regarding playing TPTK hands on dry boards / drawy boards.

I guess on dry boards getting raised usually means a strong hand on the other side where drawy boards can mean someone trying to buy cheap turns / free rivers.

Today, for what i can recall since i still don't have HM up, i lost three times ( almost in a row ) with AQ in a flop with Qxx: to a runner runner straight, to a backdoor flush and to a gutshot.

So in all of them i had my money in correctly.

The first beat i took today was shocking, in my opinion. I was facing weak players, and I knew that.

Had AK on the BB and raise, the MP ( weak! ) raise ( he usually raised any two figures, or Axs or Kxs, small pp ), button called ( he calls raises with anything ) and I re-raise for two reasons: if a K or A hits, i would get paid because they wont let go off the hand and when i CBet, even if they call, I'm positive sure if i check the river they will bet less then half the pot so they will make the river cheap, in case they didn't hit anything an Ace or King can't beat.

Flop comes: As3h5h

I bet, MP calls ( put him on a sure Ax or FD - flush draw ), button raises all in or almost all in ( can't recall ) and I thought he had something like Ax or FD or TT, 99, 88 since he has done that before and on a regular basis.

He could have a set but since he didn't had me covered I knew i could get the MP to play and even if I lost to Button against a set, which was unlikely, I would profit with MP FD chase.

I re-raise all in and MP calles.

MP showed 2h4h and Button showed A2off. Well, i don't know if my play on the flop was totally wrong, but one thing i know: i wasn't expecting any of these hands.

Later on i lost TPTK to a middle pair chaser that hit runner runner straight, when i knew exactly what he had and pushed him all in.

I'm not going to put here all hands i lost but just want to showed the one i ended my session: table with 2 tight players who were only playing pps, scs and figures hands, one that played anything and another loose/bad player, but tighter than the one that played everything.

I get AA UTG raise to 5xBB instead of the standard 4xBB and the MP ( half stack ) calls ( loose #2, bad player ) and button calls ( loose #1, calls everything with anything ).

Flop: 9QQ with a FD.

I bet the pot, MP calls, button folds.

Turn: Q

I bet the pot, MP calls.

River: x

I bet his stack ( not much at this point ), he calls and showed JQoff on his hand.

And that was it, goodbye for tonight.

ps.: lost 7 times to 3 and 2 outer river cards and 3 times to runner runner on this 1 hour session. Tomorrow will be better, worst is impossible

Still, even with this session, March objectives need to be updated. Instead of 600$, they are at 700$!

Waiting for the HM - ( Holy Manager! )

Hi!

As i told you before, i hope i did, I'm waiting for my Holdem Manager key, so I'm able to save my hands stats.

I'm still playing at Pacific Poker, land of the big oceans and little fishes. It's a pity their software kind of sucks, regarding hand history, but you can't have it all i guess.

I needed to get an "independent" program, like handgrabber, in order to be able to get the history of the hands into the Holdem Manager ( or pokertracker for that matter ).

Since I still don't know if to continue to crush pacific micro limits or move on to a rake site, I'm stanting still where i am and continue to grind it out.

In fact, i have a pending bonus of 60$ that I don't think i will be able to get because of the short limited time Pacifc has defined.

Well, I'll try until the last day, if I manage to get the 60$ sweet, if not, no big deal.

I don't have any graphics yet and i won't be able to get them from Pacific history so, regarding my progress i can only say that:

- all my sessions of the last weeks were finished being up 2.5BI, in average
- today I've played on UB to try to get my 45$ roll to 50$, in order to cashout it. Was able to get it to 79$.

Yesterday I recorded a 1:30h session, it was a cool experience talking and playing at the same time.

Hopefully i will put it here, with english subtitles.

Wrap this up

So keeping a log of all my poker adventures is harder than i thought.

I'm going to "forget" all the post I've made and therefore won't keep nor finish any of the storys i may have or may have not started ( eh eh ).

To shorter the story up:

started in january with something like 1.94€ and manage to get, on a freeroll, after going broke, 24€ with the help of my girlfriend ( you rock! ).

From that point on I've been trying to learn more and more about six max poker: it's more agreesive, with more action, with more money switching hands, more variance.

Some of these words were new, others need to be re-study.

Read a lot of info and started to join poker foruns but what i think made the difference was talking to people on Pokerinfo.pt, reading the Ryan Fee's guide and start using Holdem Manager.

Just then i felt my game had a switch and i start doing things i never ever done before.

I took my money from NOIQ and deposited it into Pacific Poker due to a promotion offering a license ( pro ) for free if i just made something like 100 points.

I did them in two weeks and got a big bundle of profit which i always kept cashing out to Neteller, leaving Pacific with the starting 100$ I've deposited before.

So, my story on pacific was and is:

- weak players kept me on my toes: they can call you down with A6 on a Axxxx table against your AK
- they can call you down with A8 on a Axxxx table and win with an 8 on the river against your AQ

On the long run, this equals profit.

I've deposit 80$, got 20$ immediate bonus ( thanks, Pokerinfo.pt ) and got to 150$.

Withdraw 50$, got again to 150$. Withdraw 50$, deposit 30$ ( stuff related to pacific administration ), got to 200$ withdraw 50$ and now I'm with 175$ once more.

Plus i got 50$ more or less on Ultimate Bet ( remember the 17$ rakeback i had? ) and some free entrys to the steps wsop tournaments qualifiers.

From 13$ January to 400$ February comes a long run and something like 10k hands.

I'm playing NL4 and on Pacific i', playing NL10.

Objective for February accomplished ( was 200$ mark ).

Objective for March updated, was 400$ now it's 600$.

Sunday 25 January 2009

Update!

Hi, mates.

"Why are you writing ( or trying to ) in english?"

Well, if in the future someone besides me wants to read this bunch of crap, at least this way a lot more people will be able to do so. Savvy?

Regarding the cards...let's see.

I've received an e-mail from a rake back site telling me they have missed me very much, me and my ( very ) small rake. Just for the sake of it, i logged into the site and, hell freezes over right now, i had 17$ i didn't cashback!!!

I choose a site where i could withdraw the money too and then i intended to withdraw once more but to neteller, where i have my account.

Since I've chosen ultimate bet, my minimum withdrawal possible is around 50$ so of to the tables.

- I've found out i have 150$ pending bonus dolars in my ultimate bet ( UB ) account! Hard to release them on .02/.04 stakes but hey, anything that comes my way is good.

After a few explosive barrels and some wicked bad beats, where i managed to reach 30$, then go back to 9$, i'm staying now with 24$.

I've learn a lot about oponents on this site and on these stakes, they are a lot different from the ones on the NOIQ poker where i too play ( remember the first 10€, the tournament qualifier? ).

I think now i'm in the zone, i'm ready baby, i think i will make it to 50$ or more ( bonus, bonus, bonus!! )

On to the other account.

Since i've got these new challenge on my hands, i've played a lot less on this account but sometimes less is more and on just one table ( was in four, counting the 3 at UB ) I tried to be patiente and let the cards come my way.

For better or the worse, i'm now at give or take a euro, 70€.

Sweet! Almost at 100€!

Well, as Cartman would have said it, screw you guys, i'm going home.

Saturday 17 January 2009

Some changes

Well, where did we left off?

Ahh yes, the tournament, the qualifier, the money!

Well, i didn't qualify, had some though luck. In three hands, i left it all to ruin..

First, not a really smart move but i was trying to get some chips from the blind with 35s, he went as well all in with 86 and the flop revealed an 8.

I've rebuyed and got all in later on with AQ against a big stack ( who went all in before with T8s, 33 in a multiway pot without position, etc, etc ) and he had AJ. Cool, i thought.

The flop? xxJ.

Last rebuy and i went all in again with a big pocket pair, don't recall if it was AA or QQ. Well, the other player had a pocket pair as well, like TT or 99 and hit a set on the river.

Enough is enough and i lost.

Then i charged the ring tables and manage to build up a stack to about 39€.

Played some more and lost it to 30 € with an incredible bad run of events ( 3 hands lost almost 3 buyins, ill put some of the hands here ) and later on manage to a solid 37 €.

One of the hands that forfit my escalation to success ( the mark of 50€ ) was:

- AA chased by a weak player who caught a set on the river. He then quit instatly.

On the rebound to 37€ the two hands i remeber most were AA against one player, i hit a set ( flop A28 ) and he went all in. He had 22. Perfect flop for me here.

And another hand was in a table where a good poker game was being held. Lots of bluffs and power play. One of the players, Ash something, kept being both agressive and insanelly passive.

At some point i had AK with a solid raise pre-flop 3 or 4 time the big blind, and he chased me down. The flop revealled only rags and he bet half the flop. I raised him the pot and he re-raised me the minimum.

I re-raised me, with the read he didnt hit anything but was trying to push me out or make a cheap 4th and 5th street. He quickly re-raised me. I fold and he show A6. The flop had something like 274.

Later on another player, in a flop with QJs2xx, kept betting small values until the river which i felt it was a blank card.

I had Q7 and knew my weak pair could probably be the best hand, since this player was to into bluffs at this point. I call and became very proud to see a straight flush draw in his hand ( T9s ).

I'm a weak and learning player, so this kind of hands make me happy!:)

So, now i've got 36€, with .25€ invested in a 3000$ garantued tournament and .20€ in a 200€ tournament.

Let's see how this goes.

Tuesday 13 January 2009

New stage! New life! Part 2

Hello again!

Since the last post was becoming very long ( and therefore a boring read ) i splitted it into two short(er) posts.

I'm guessing no one is going to read this anyway but the hell with it:)

Well, i started to play lots of freerolls. Anything and everything that cost 0€ to play, i was there.

My main objective was to gather at least the minimum buyin at a .10 / .20 limit table, so i could try to play and get lucky for the first few times ( 0.80€ was just 8BBs ).

I've manage to qualify, with the help of a very good player ( later on i'll introduce her ), to play a tournament with 3.000 $ guaranteed - the buy-in to this tournament was 0.25 €. At this time i had only 0,16 € because i rebuyed in a random freeroll i was playing in.

On that tournament, and with the help of the magnificient pro player ( that i'll soon introduce ) i've manage to finish at a position that payed off 27 €!

I was back on track.

Now i've qualify to play on a Cup 2 tournament, that will lead to Cup 3 and with some luck, to a final Cup that pays 45 € to the 13th position - the final has just 100 players so i guess i have a real shot at the money. Who knows, maybe i can make the final table.

Ps.: I've played a bit on a 0.02 / 0.04 nl 6 seats and manage to win some cash, some stone cold hard cash! About 1€...:). I have now, more or less, 28,50 €!

Strategy

From now on, my strategy is to win a consistent amount of money per day. As long as i'm below 50€, my mark is 1€ per day.

Let's see how it goes.

New stage! New life!

Well, i had 1,95€ like you all know.

Yes, had. I lost it all in less than 5 minutes, not due to bad beat or bad playing but because of a big bet of the remaining money i had on a .10 / .20 (limit) table - at that time i had more or less 1.50 €.

Fast forward!

So there was i, in a "big" pot, against another player. As i expected ( and wanted to ), the other player raised me to cap the bet on the turn. At this time i had more or less 1.15€ in the pot. I was about to double up!

As i pressed the call button, the world stood still and nothing happened. The chat became as cold and silent as...hum...as anything that is cold and silent. I tried to move the mouse, press some keys, nothing.

My computer just froze. And the table didnt have any all in protection. Quick, fast restart.

As soon as my computer restarted, i try to log in into the poker client and found out i was left with more or less .30€ in my account.

The lowest limit to enter the smallest stakes table was....0,80 €.

I was left unable to join any table or game, since the smallest buy in at any tournament was 1€.

Well, back to the freerolls baby!

Thursday 8 January 2009

First post!

Hello, hello!

I'm a curious poker player who started to play some time ago.

I started with 0$, then manage to win, wait for it...wait for it, yes 1$ from a 4325235 th ( can't remember ) place!

A hole buck!

A friend of mine borrowed me 10$ which i was able to double and return after a few days!

From then it was just going up.....until i found out some schemes with the roullete game and sporting events bets.

So i lost a bundle of cash and after some withdrawals and stupid things ( yes, the roullete wasnt my only dumb mistake ) i'm alone at the poker tables with something like 1,95 €!

So, this is my diary, on how i managed ( or not ) to get my roll to a decent amount!
